Fixtures are auto-generated, groups aren't. ripper put the teams into the groups, the software created the matches between each of the teams in the group.

I hope that rippeR understand at least change playoff tree that C & D groups don't playing against each other in first playoff round as that's mean that VYE will knockout chaotech/aspire... while A/B group team will get after all to final without playing VYE or FirstFrag?

#8 Actually I think most ppl do not understand :( Where the hell is the problem? it's a cup and random seedings can result in unbalanced tree-sides. and if you're participating in a cup, you'll face a strong team sooner or later anyway. So where is the problem? Seems for me like you want to say to yourself "yay, we reached semi-finals at least, till we got raped" We probably wouldn't discuss here if you would be in group A or B, would we?
I'll stay to my word: Before I generated fixtures & groups, I've said that it will be A1vs.B2 , B1vsA2, C1vsD2, D1vsC2 and hell yes I will stick to that.
Who the hells cares about which team knocks out what team in former rounds. Best team wins. This is exactly what a cup is about. Do not forget that.

How does one or two results in a small cup reflects the ability of a team? As I said. Sooner or later they will face a strong team, anyway.
cups are meant to be for random seedings. in every sports. I agree that you can't compare dod:s to real sports (e.g. football) but a random seeding is the fairest way of all and sure it means that someone might have an easier way to the final than someone else. But thats how its working.
Besides not highskilled teams have a chance to make their way through the tree and this makes it much more interesting for them. And since this not more than a small cup and not the EMS, I can't see the difference between good groupmatches and a good final. It's all about the wine: "meeh, we could have beaten the 3rd or 2nd placed team, but we got no chance to show it.." Just think about the scenario if we would use this system in football in FA Cup e.g. If they would not randomly seed the tree, the semifinals would look like Chelsea vs. ManC , ManU vs. Arsenal (no idea which team are the best 4 atm in england). As I said football isn't really comparable to DoD:S cuz an underdog might beat a really good team which is nearly impossible in DoD:S. So we would have basicly the same tree every time. And just think about the finalists: I can't imagine that they would like to play against the same teams everytime. This is why I think it is boring not to have random seedings.
ok to sum it up and to hopefully stop this discussion:
I don't make these cups for single (skilled) teams. I host them for everyone, who wants to play a couple of games and have fun. Random seedings are the fairest solution by far and they are part of the basic concept of a cup.
I understand your criticism and I appreciate your feedback, but I will stick to this system cuz this system guarantees a fair and at least new seedings for everycup again.

Random tournaments have their own charm. I like random tournaments and I respect ripper for staying with his own format. These things happen and since nbad mentioned football this is like the fa cup. man city vs. man utd straight away :D Millwall in the fa cup final and things like that.
Don't be afraid to mix things up and be glad that its randomly generated and not generated to the maximum favour of the tournament admin :D

It was generated to my maximum favour, too: We had two good opponents and funny matches in the groupstage. :) Could only have been better if we would have make it to the playoffs ;)

Ok. Playoffs are going to start! Sadly I had to make an admin decision in the end, but there was no other way :( Looking forward to the playoffs, tho.

#26 I asked 3 days before default date that can you play then but you bothered answer to it like 3h before default time.. After all I didnt manage get 6 in 3h and you went playing FF and told us we can rearrange game np.
Last 4 days I tryed contact you guys and play match at ANYDAY this week before playoffs but I get only one answer from you guys and it was "whaaaat?" after I said to mastaZ in steam "mastaaaaaaaa... ?"
And admin made that decided it coz you had problems arrange game with FF also and same shit with us. You should answer in steam and I tryed contact masta/nms like 7 days in row but nothing.. sadly but true.

as I said. both teams are not really innocent ;( So it was a hard decision for me. I even thought about to give the spot ssd or the brazilians.
If you can finish the game before 20:00cet (= playoff starts), I really would welcome this (cuz def.wins suck). If not, I will stay to this decision, sorry.

#27 i asnwered in early morning in 9 gmt or cet that we will play at defdate and that i will give ip of neutral server.
when we came at defdate and time in server you decided to reshedule the match in last minutes. you didn't show up. we were at the server and decided to play against FF. firstfrag weren't against and we didn't waste time.
that's just facts miikaz. defdate is a defdate. i don't understand what you wanted to see exactly in matchcomments. i gave you an answer that we will play the match in defdate and time before 10 hours (not 3h as u say) after that i gave IP of neutral server. really dunno what u wanted to see. but we weren't against and didn't put noshow.. we agreed to reshedule.

#30 Not my problem that you guys wanted rearrange match but didnt answered last 4 days so don't talk shit solo.. gtfo or get point ffs. And btw you never waited us in server coz I told 30min before to nms we dont have six and that can you rearrange and he said its fine and friends never show that you were on server without us so deal with your "waste time". Next time answer to question bit earlier (at least day before match) that can you play or not so teams know get six on and don't "waste time".
