Ham and Jam - An Interview with Jed

Today I would like to present to you the HL2 mod Ham and Jam. Ham and Jam is a privately created mod based within the European and Africa theatres of World War II focusing on the battles of The British Army and soldiers of the Commonwealth.

I have had the pleasure of talking with one of HaJ’s creators, and founder of the project, Jed who helpfully took the time to explain to me the background and workings of his mod. I’m sure as DoD:S players and many of you who used to play DoD will be interested in this mod and will show it the support its hard work deserves. The mod will be released for free and you’ll be able to play on some of the public servers and also FirstFrag, long supporters of HaJ, will be hosting some small cups with the game.

My interview with Jed:

Hello and welcome to zeroPoint. Would you like to introduce yourself to the community and tell us a little about yourself?

Hi. I’m Jed, known variously around the HL2/Source world as Wunderboy or back in the old DoD days as Trp.Jed. I live in Stockholm, Sweden although I’m originally from the UK. I’ve been modding games to some degree since the early 80’s but really go into it about 10 years ago with Half-Life, CS:S and then mainly DoD. Since I started I’ve had the opportunity to work with Valve making official content for DoD, worked on a few indie game titles in the US and now my main projects are modding tools and Ham and Jam.

1question : gameplay more like dod or like (for example) resistance and liberation ?

#5: from what i understand he contributed official content and did not work for valve like being in their office

#6: more like r&l than dod imo, at least when i beta tested it 2 years ago. gonna try the official release again, looking forward to it!

nice interview, looking forward to playing it! also i like the idea that the further away someone is the bullets will be less damagin, wish it was like that for the mediums on dods!
