random crashes (Hits:356) [Goto Last Post]

Hiho,

Since 2 Days i got some strange problems with my dods. at random times (mostly 20sec after i joined a server) i get a freeze. The sound freezes to and i cannot even TAB out to kill the process or something. All i can do is reset.... . I reinstalled dods and dont want to do another format C:. Any advices (play dods never again is not a good advice :D)?

Not playing dods sounds like a good advice to me....

Kill the processes you dont use while playin dods like.. msn, (icq in your case) etcetera

let me guess. AUDIGY Soundcard. If that's true you got your answer. Get rid of it. Had the same shit a 2-3 years ago. I actually know of quite some similar cases :P

You got antialias and stuff on? High graphic settings?
Had the same problem with a damaged graphiccard, crashed because of antialiasing!

I always kill every process i do not need (i will test it without xfire but i do not think this is it). All processes running atm were running or the last year so that would be strange. My soundcard is a Terratec 7.1 PCI so no AUDIGY . No antialias because my pc is not that highend and i want my 110 fps ;) (think i will run a benchmark maybe i can reproduce the problem there altough it only happens in DODS).

Could be overheating, even though the computer should restart by itself...

Did a stress test for CPU and GPU and the temperature does not extend 52° for the CPU and like 60° for the GPU after like 20 WIC maxed settings benchmarks.

uninstall the mainboard tools (foxcoon shizzle for me )

i got some familiar problems that any other game except dods crashed fuckn often, the sound was freezing and just a black screen while tabbing out

The only Mainboard tool i got it the MSI Core Center i installed when already having the problem to check the temp. Rest are just the drivers i cannot unistall them ;) (also i tried to change my dxlvl back from 90 to 95 but no effect). Next step will be the basic cfg -_-.

try disabling multicore rendering

Ok seems to be sth with the cfg cause i dont get the freeze with a basic cfg. With a cfg including the basic rate values+some gfx i got 3sec freezes but the game continues. Without multicore i got like 50-70 fps ;D. So i need to test some cfg settings. Thx for all advices^^
