I worked hard the past 3 days to make it possible, and today I’m here to share this ultimate list of the best teams & players ever on Day of Defeat & Day of Defeat : Source.

God knows how much we love these games even though we often complained about them, the reg or Valve itself. The fact is, we couldn’t ever find a FPS game that gives us so much feelings.

Please feel free to notice if there are any mistakes for any team or player or flag, so I can correct it immediately, but bear in mind that the rankings are made according to my thoughts, so you may not agree with me.

Interesting lists. I'd agree with most of it except for a few things:

Acidman, Filter and Stin were all a lot better than rnl at 1.3, and danger was definately one of their top3 lights.

You forgot rex/divine and all their players on the swedish side :( Also players like Elsila or litet_djur should be on there. Oops! Heiden and pera from the Eurocup winning PO&Co needed to be on as well.

I love tigii and all, but he shouldnt be near a pre-source french dreamteam (or overall dreamteam :p)

aNak on lights in belgium, and Tommy on heavy.

I would replace Bossegiraff with Noir04 on team denmark.

Squall should be on team spain lights.

Nstatic/Adachi among the best teams of all time? What were you smoking there? :D

I feel like you missed a lot of players from the earliest part of 1.3, but I guess it's kinda impossible to find them all :P

#5 Rikkem I dunno if you're blind but SaH and gorillaz are on the list... about Fromhell they weren't near the level of the other frenchies if I remember correct.

just a few things regarding germany:

team-befingert was a mgc of aw3some in source, iirc they never had a 1.3 team.
same goes for jalle, nookie and b2k. while all 3 of them played 1.3, none of them did at a really competitive level. theyre all source players for aw3some though. german teams misses scarleX & insular.
german players missing i can catch right from the scratch: cheesie, pitbull, sturmmann and for late 1.3 foorcr, ckx, mors, gLOVE, etc

Though some good teams haven't been mentioned. Angripen, pH, SA + Remember should be added to the swedish list. Also the swedish player "pera".

In the german team list: Scarlex and insular is missed i think:/

this is indeed an very nice list

Considering that mysTix appears on that list, I'd add All for Nothing, as they were pretty much the same level (both won matches against each other several times). And for those who remember him, Redge`` should definitely be on that list, as he played amazingly as a sniper (I'm pretty sure that guys like D4n and Insider would agree).

An awesome list, but for me the biggest exclusion has to be Poland. Steelhand/whiteRabbit (unskilled, zuq, kijas, banio, b!nio, nju, wachoo, mati) ended up being a pretty awesome team and I'm almost certain there were more players than just these from poland who were good at 1.3

Also, despite being one of those amazing players that were tragically underrated at Source, SoYa wasn't ever a big player in 1.3

PoPo missing for france and he deserves to be on the dream team.

#14 true, they also had a team called ingenium that featured two brothers (win & drn) who were called cheaters by drx. That has to count for something.

Nightmare was the best Swedish player around in 1.3, probably the best player around full stop. How he didn't make the Swedish dream team. Alex was the best uk light after Animal as well.

nightmare was really good but he never managed to win anything big in 1.3. It's hard to rate him because of that.

river and tidde have major championships to back it up


also, there should be a scottish team!

You can't base his skill level on the fact that he decided not to play for a team like unplugged?

Drx won major tiles!

I'm not saying nightmare wasn't really good (possibly good enough for the dreamteam), but tidde/river/apax were probably as good and won championships as well, hence why they should be ahead

#20, I agree, he knew little to no english and was a pain in the ass. But he kicked 90% of people's asses when he was in SA. So if that's the reason to why he's excluded then this is a quite corrupt list;/

#30 you didn't get my point, I mean it's easy to kick asses when there are no more good players on dod 1.3 (SA played in 2007/2008 or so if I remember correct ?)
I don't know Su` myself, but I'm sure he wouldn't have owned so hard against decent opponents between 2003 & 2006.

the best player i ever played against was from Fi" (dont have single quote atm stupid usa keyboard!) either way, his name was _Rele, if Sagi still plays he should remember him, that guy made me wanna play dod, good with all classes etc... good memories~! <3 Patrik

Yeah Hn, _Rele was pretty amazing. He stopped before b2.0 came out which is a reason why no one knows him. There was a demo of him in some pcw/match floating around like 6-7 years ago.. good stuff.

i would add 6bdsz and shadow to best polish players.... both were just amazing snipers. Also if we are talking about older versions i would mention the whole RECON/FearFactor team (cant remember all of them who played there but it was for sure dc, skupi, 6bdsz, lockjaw)

But to say that people who played 2007-2008 aren't as good as thoose before is kinda ignorant. After all, there were some really good teams at that time period aswell...

fairly comprehensive list but missing some notable older players, like ezku, jbld, mejselli, jazz, quinn, vanilla, squee, cassius, fish, yogi, nimzicki, true, suitor (:D), christian, luca brasi, polini etc. as for the all time best clans, I wouldn't have Nstatic or dxc on there, as i can't remember them winning anything. in general the dream teams were kinda leaning towards the later parts of 1.3 (there were even some players i've never heard of!) and there were stronger older players in earlier versions of dod imo!

MG (Mongo) was a better light than Noir04 and Knox for that matter.

I think that PxL (MoMo, K-Fear, etc.) should be on the french list, as a top 3.1b clan (Ex: eurocup VII http://clanbase.ggl.com/news_league.php?lid=844 )

And like #39 said NeoKiKi derserves a spot, he was one of the best lights in France, that why inX picked him up.

And imo mysTix shouldn't be up threre, they were a top dods team, but were not that special at 1.3.

I would say Zoanth is probably the best player who ever touched this game. He was the best heavy from 3.1b to 1.3. Most people who were amazing in 3.1b couldn't keep the same level when the game was changed.

An1mal, nuker, Zoanth, Quinn, vanilla(h?) and River felt best of the best for me. Love to play with them but hate to play against them.

Lotez was team.sweden captain and a really decent player if I remember correct ;)

I do miss Booby in the French list. If I look at the heavies who are even in the French dream team, he sure deserves to be in there. And in 1.3 I think c0re was better than tigii. He replaced in late 1.3 c0re in clan dxc~junk52
