first trailer #1 looked promising.
Slightly annoyed by his kinda fake (typical epic movie) voice/accent though.

2nd trailer looks amazing. Also I always have high expectations of ridley scot.

rewatched the 2nd trailer. What do I see? The spaceship from alien.
Just amazing. Totally rapes however good this movie could have potentially been.
The alien series went downhill since aliens and it will never top the 1st two. Not even mentioning alien vs predator. Who in his right mind would want to make a prequel?

Maybe ridley scot wants to release and promote a new directors cut of alien in the near future? Would make sense as he releases a new version of blade runner every decade.

The trailer gave away so much stuff that it might make the movie uniterresting to watch.
Next is speculation. I haven't read anything about this movie. Only watched the 2 trailers in this post. So I could very well be wrong.

find some ancient stuff. Directs them to some planet.
They go there find some stuff. Find aliens (never seen those before).
Some spaceship leaves with aliens on board.
It threatens to reach earth. But there is no tension or fear as I watch this.
We recognise the ship and know it doesn't reach earth but crashes somewhere .
many people die. Spaceship crashes.

I so hope I'm wrong.
Could still be entertaining though. Although it could never beat the trailer.
But why? Does it being a "alien prequel" give them more funding and viewers? Maybe that's the reason. But all I care about is if it is good. And making a sci fi movie from scratch. New script, story etc and make it good just seems so much easier to me then reviving the alien series that ended in the garbage can. And still having the original 2 which are unbeatable to set the absolute highest expectations.

Of all the aliens movies the scene I like most is when they enter that spaceship in the original movie. The chair with that giant the looks everything looks so good and there are so many questions, mystery etc.
Questions I would rather leave unanswered(or answer myself) as it can only ruin that scene for me the next time I watch alien.
Why couldn't they just make a awesome epic sci fi movies about a different kind of aliens? Or maybe no aliens at all.

I expect this to be better than predators. But that also made me ask.. why?. Who in his right mind thinks of the idea to make a high budget predator sequel and cast Adrien Brody for it.

#6 after watching real trailers (2 of them) I'll have to agree with you at most points, except that third alien movie is my fav on pair with 1st one.
It should have been a trilogy, because the third part somehow concludes the saga. Resurrection was a very weak film with ridiculous script and acting imo. good FX though.
trailers were more like spoilers. I normally don't watch them, but unfortunately here I couldn't resist.
"ancient stuff" is just bull shit seen in too many movies already.
that being said I still expect it to be masterfully made and entertaining.
