I bought this game for 3 quid today. I used to play it everyday for years and it was fucking great man. wasted half my fucking youth like but had some good times as well.

I loaded up dod today and every server was full of bots. every single server. it was creepy as fuck man. Are there actually people who still play it or does everyone just play source now?

There are still servers. But I (deliberately or not) got myself banned from just about all of them. This way I can't be tempted to join when there ar non-bots on or when anzio is on.

Anzio empties a server in 5 minutes actually. They rather play orange 24/7.
Orange isn't even a decent aimmap tbh. Its a horrible spawncamp map and wheter you are on the winning team matters more than skill. It makes you appreciate the old ava 24/7 servers.
The only decent servers with normal maps have fastspawn on and some kind of spawncamp mod when you win a game. Lamest thing I ever saw.
If as a protest you enter spawn before winning the game they suddenly complain and ban you. Also be prepared to go medic. Be blown up by invisible bombs and other weird stuff.
Mapvotes are always won by cs maps, color maps or maps like escape or vicenza also resulting in the emptying of servers.

Rules defy all logic. If someone tries to fullcap and you shoot him from spawn ramp you get banned. When there is a mg camping outside spawn you must suicide drop yourself from this ramp and die. You are not allowed to shoot this mg or you also get banned.

You are not allowed to pistol switch with k98 even when this has no advantage at all. Because such a advantage cannot be tolerated by the admins. At the same time the opposing team is playing garand with a 1 shot kill mod on.

Bots no longer have 0 ping. And the people that are not bots play like bots because they are clueless. Resulting in more people leaving the server because they think they are playing bots. This genius plan was fabricated so that we can join servers with aimbot without getting banned, just by using a generic bot nickname.
All the bots do is block you in spawn and walk in circles. Tking them results in being slayed and/or banned. Some admins were even smart enough to give bots random slay/don't forgive rights when you accidently kill them with a nade.
