With this news we are going to introduce some changes to our rules. Feel free to suggest any further improvements, we appreciate your feedback.

The following changes have been made and are in effect immediately:

a) We made one small change in the official serverconfigs upgrading the value of sv_maxrates from 30000 to 60000. You can download the new configs here.

b) We removed the sentence "Using custom crosshairs is allowed" as only default crosshairs work since the introduction of sv_pure 2.

c) From now on we consider scripts as illegal that are executing empty or non-existent .mp3 files, so please change your configs if you use such an alias to get a short "stopsound-effect".

d) Last but no least we suggest to use DBlocker on every gameserver from now on. This plug-in will not be considered as illegal and it does not interfer with the current ESL rules. Instructions how to set it up can be found on the tool's homepage.

This action is necessary to fight against several things, mainly the currently spreading "no-recoil-scripts" of the last days and weeks.
Beginning with the playoffs, it will be required to have DBlocker on the server, but we strongly recommend that you are going to use it already for the groupstage. We added the following sentences to our rules:

If one team prefers to play with DBlocker and has got a server with DBlocker which has ping and neutrality conditions acceptable for both teams, this server has to be preferred against a server without DBlocker.

Additionally, we have informed Valve (again!) about that issue and we hope to see a fix soon. Until then we might see another plug-in that is just observing the scripts folder soon and we hope such a check gets integrated to Aequitas as well.

we know its not satisfying to not fully force dblocker from tomorrow on already, but it`s just not possible in my opinion.
but the more teams use it already the safer it gets already for the groupstage. although i expect some problems with those rules and the performance its the best solution for now, im sure panteror and Didrole can give good feedback about the tool.

i`m curious about the feedback on this, let`s all this stuff together.

played on a server with dblocker yesterday, i experienced like 2 or 3 lags during the whole game, nothing much to moan about considering it blocks any illegal stuff.

dblocker isnt finished i cant get on servers because of salerno script also i have something which stops my hud showing revenge and dominating so it kicks me for that its bullshit.

#25 DBlocker is forced in French Cup 2009 organized by DoDFrance, most of teams try to use it as much as possible, even little teams. So yes, we're trying.

#25 I don't think that dominating/revenge stuff has anything to do with fps optimization :X ah and I'm not sure if CD even were used in 1.0 ;) I can remember that they stopped to keep it up to date.

nice rules change, even If I don't understand what that play 0.mp3 rule effect, but I guess you can probably missuse it in some way.

nice idea,
i have another one, i will make a new anticheater, it will better than dblocker, this program will have a little problem, you will play with aimbot if you modifiy some scripts but dont worry. We will hide you for your security and if any of you thing we can or could cheat, then you are retards and assholes.

WTF!... why use a program that fails on over 90 % of the servers.... use it when it is DONE!.. seriously this is bad. ive only tried one server that it didnt fail with it. BAD choice is bad.

considering that we are talking about a way to prevent illegal scripting that has to be one of the worst excuses ever.

Im also surprised on how some people seem to prefer playing with lack of security about cheating then with dblocker because it lags.. or takes the "idontcare.txt" or the "imthesoundnerd.mp3".

#33 Its been more than half a year since those scripts work, dont you think its a bit late? I would have played with dblocker since the moment it was known after the palermo update, no matter if it lags, but now its too late i guess.

in fact i doubt some1 used this 6 months ago, yes it would have been possible, but really almost no1 knew about it. you would have had to to know which files causes this and extract them directly from the .gcf
the problem went more serious as dblocker 1.2 was released and the files were downloaded to be blocked on "every" local hdd and this wasnt so long ago. that doesnt make the problem better, but its wrong to mistrust every match now from the past half year.

and i know we might get problems with some serverperformances, but for now its the only secure method. im sure the dblocker team keeps improving the tool and like i said there is another similar project going on which might could help us (and any other league) until valve fixes this way to hack. and i hope aequitas will monitor those files soon too.

I agree in the fact that the use of DBlocker should be obligatory.

And as Snk and others says, DBlocker is enforced in 2 cups and most of teams are trying to use it but we met many problems with it (horible lags). I hope that DBlocker could fix this.

(I knew that UK's were nice lamers, i see that spanish's are quite good aswell, not very surprising when we know that since the begining of dod, many of them were / are cheating.)

as long 1 team got a server with dblocker on it which is fair for both teams in term of stability and neutrality this server has to be used.
we just cant force dblocker on all servers due to the sloppy and bad serverperformance wich leads some servers to crash.

To anyone complaining about the server performance, you're completely wrong.

Played a 2*20 two days ago on a server with dblocker, I experienced only 2 or 3 lags during the whole game.
And if it fucks the server that much, why did I drop 40 bombs twice? the reg was fine.

i never said its hard, i just said i cant imagine that most people tried that, as they didnt know what to look for before dblocker 1.2 was released. i know how it works and as the palermo update was public even almost noone noticed that the files werent decrypted.

1 moment of lag tho could end up deciding a game !!!

lats night in a pcw 1 moment of lag on the Dyst server allowed a full cap. Yes its a pcw and it was 2 mixes vs each other but the point still stands.... 1 minor 1second lag caused 2 players to lose there nades causing double tk.... 4 players down and free run to first flag was theres.

If you lost a cap cos of lag in an official you'd be pissed !

I am in no way saying that dblocker shouldnt be used, i'm not for or against it to be honest. Whatever is best for the community to get the game as clean as possible should be used. Just a quick point on lag is all !

well if the laggs havent been fixed i rather play vs noobie cheaters than playing on a server thats shit because dblock. U shouldnt enforce shit until it aint shit anymore if that made any sence. I mean it shouldnt be enforced until it work as it should. but IMO id rather play vs shitty noobie cheaters than i would play on a server thats pure Bullshit.

but im hoping on what lennox said is true and its not that bad. i quess we will see soon enough

There will be a new version of Dblocker soon with an option to activate or not the cvar checking system.
It's the cvar checking system which may cause "lags" of some servers because of high cpu use.
There is no problem with good quality servers.
