ESL Nations Championship 2010 announced

2010 is the year of the big competitions on national level with the Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver, the Football World Cup in South Africa and the
Day of Defeat: Source Nations Championship over at the ESL site!
ESL would like to invite you and your nation to take part in the most prestigous Day of Defeat: Source event and fight for the virtual trophy that is in the hands of
France at the moment, after their glorious win last year.
The Nations Championship will start in February right after the EMS Season V is finished, the
signups start on
Monday the 11th January and end on
Sunday the 7th February.
Keep in mind that you are only eligible of participating for countries where you own an actual passport from. On demand of most spectators and teams we will have a groupstage this season. Currently we are planning with 4 groups, but this number could increase if we get more singups then expected.
The choice of the captains will be in the hands of the local communities. Every country from all over the world is invited to take part in this competition, but since this is an European league, all matches have to be played on European servers and on European times, unless both teams agree on something different.
Every team is allowed to have a maximum of
12 players in the roster this season and two additional teammanagers, who arent allowed of taking part in play on the server. Also every team is allowed to swap 2 players during the groupstage.
We will release more informations about the mappool, ruleset and the playoff system during the next weeks. May the best country win!

The managers idea is just bought in from other games, I doubt its even necessary for people to have them but as RiN said tront is always a prime UK finger for supporting teams :)

If the best british and spanish players play in one Team so let them play.
Every nation should be able to send the best team.
And im sure with or without the rule not only w4sp players would play for germany.

Well yes, but it's no the same. Just need to watch the football national teams, they are a lot of players from the same team playing in it at the same time.
Nations Cup is supposed to take place with the best teams of every country, and that can't be done with that rule.
For example, UK team should have five of TLR players :3
